House passes bill to avert rail strike ahead of holiday season

The House voted to block a potential railroad strike that could devastate the nation's economy ahead of the holidays. The bill, which now moves to the Senate, forces rail companies and workers to accept the labor agreement the White House helped negotiate in September.
